With a view to preparing the candidature of the city of Cordoba to become the European Capital of Culture, Cordoba Cultural City Foundation, the organisation entrusted with designing the project, has promoted 16 cultural activities of various types which are being run during the year 2009 by the 4 public institutions that make up the Foundation: Cordoba Town Hall, the Cordoba Provincial Government, the Andalusian Regional Government and the University of Cordoba. With this programme, grouped under the heading of Cordoba in 16 Mode: The future has roots, the idea is to push Cordoba’s cultural agenda into the Spanish and international limelight.
