In 2008, the Rafael Boti Provincial Arts Foundation together with the University of Cordoba ran the third edition of the Pilar Citoler International Contemporary Photography Award. In the month of February, the prize money (€15,000) was awarded to the photographer Manuel Sonseca, the winner of this edition. At the same time, an exhibition of photographs of the winner of the second edition, Félix Curto, was opened, together with the ten photos selected in the present edition. Very soon, the fourth edition of this award will be organised in which over 400 photographers from all around the world have taken part, including countries such as Japan, USA, Germany, France, Australia,
Argentina and Spain – the international flavour of the award is clear to see. The award is presented annually at Paris Photo, which is the most prestigious trade fair in the world of photography.
