I would like to give my support to Cordoba’s bid to become the European Capital of Culture 2016 – based on its rich artistic heritage, its status as a UNESCO World Heritage City, its rich tradition of coexistence between different cultures and its current creative vitality. Undoubtedly, these credentials will not only help to encourage dialogue among European citizens and cities but also to extend these diverse assets far beyond its frontiers.
